School Community Council Minutes
10/24/24
6:00 P.M.
Those in attendance: Michelle Hauck, Ashley Backman, Shawna Fillmore, Angi Holden, Kris Millerberg, Veronica Reginato, and Ellen Birell
Welcome and approval of previous meeting minutes
The following items were discussed:
1. Regarding students being tardy and attendance the policy is on the school website. On ParentSquare you can notify the office that your child will be absent. You do not have to call it in. Peer Court is the last step regarding to many tardies/absences and is the last step before having to get Juvenile Court involved.
- There will be a Tardy competition November 04 – November 26.
2. Safe Walking Routes discussed. It was discussed as to why the area of 1000 E and Old Dairy Road/Cedar Terrace Dr on the safe walking routes map. This will be looked into and see what maybe can be done.
- A Walking Bus was brought up as to if there was a way that we could get volunteers to maybe walk with a group of kids to school.
- Possibly a Walking Day with breakfast can be planned for maybe next Spring? Teach kids therules of being a pedestrian whether it being walking or riding bike/scooter to from school.
- Looking at putting out a survey possibly on Parent Square asking questions regarding Safe Routes as well as any issues or concerns from parents regarding walking/biking to school.
3. Reviewed the School Safety Plan
4. Reviewed the 24-25 School Plan- just a quick run over
5. PTSA Fundraiser end of Oct
6. Watch D.O.G.S discussed a little. How great it is going.
