School Community Council Minutes
January 23, 2025 @ 6:00p.m.
In Attendance: Angie Holden, Veronica Reginato, Ashley Backman, Jeremy Hodgson, Melissa Hodgson, Michelle Hauck, Matt Barila, Tiffani Martin
- Welcome and Approval of previous meetings minutes
- Touched on Winter Benchmark finishing up
- The 2023-2024 Land Trust Final Report should be posted on school website 01/25/25.
- Parent Teacher Conference – end of February discussed maybe ways of changing how process is set up in school to make it easier for parent to see wait lines at multiple teachers then having to go from pod to pod. Maybe having teachers do a timer and then let parents know if they have further things to discuss to send email or schedule another time to meet.
- The math and reading teachers will be providing data at Parent Teacher conferences regarding the progress students have made from fall to winter quarters.
- Touched on the new Map testing and how it will provide individual achievement and growth for each student rather than lumping student into a general category. More to be learned as this tool is being used.
- Talked about maybe ways to try and help students get better grades and attendance and why that is so important. Discussed maybe having some kind of focus group with some students and see what their thoughts are on those topics.
- School fees once again being looked at by legislatures during the legislative session. Will have to wait and see what decision is made. We are not exactly sure what this would look like. Assuming it is the fees for the core classes.
- Watch D.O.G.S is going good. There will be a get together in the spring some time to keep the enthusiasm going with the program.
- PTSA is needing some new members as there were only really 3 people last year running it.
They need more help.
