This Week at Union Middle School:
Principal Message
We hope you all had a fabulous Spring Break! We are looking forward to the next seven weeks of school until Summer Break. This is a busy time of year and we are excited to support our students with their continued learning and growth!
We would like to inform our UMS community that Assistant Principal, Nate Brannon, has resigned. We are sad to see him go and are grateful for his contributions to our school community. Canyons School District School Board approved Administrative Appointments for the 2025-2026 school year. It had been announced that Karlie Aardema will be assigned to the Assistant Principal position at Union Middle School.
We are fortunate that she will be able to start at Union MS this week as of Wednesday, April 16th.Karlie has exceptional experience as a Canyons school administrator. She is an extremely skilled educator and leader. We welcome her to our Union Middle School community.
Message from our new Assistant Principal
Hello Bobcat community! My name is Karlie Aardema and I am so excited to be joining the Union staff. I am finishing up my 16th year in education. I have spent my career as a teacher, an instructional coach, and, most recently, an assistant principal at Indian Hills Middle School for 4 years. I love working with middle school aged children and my philosophy is that they all have something amazing to contribute to our school. This is a crucial time of learning and growing and I am lucky that I get to be there to support them through this time. I am always happy to help so please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to working together to help your student succeed.
Again thank you for your continued support. We look forward to Finishing Strong this school year at Union MS!
Best –
