Union Office Hours
In order to limit exposure to our office staff, the Union office will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, if you need to come in at a different time, you can call the Union Middle Main Office (801-826-7500) to set an appointment. We will also be available to answer phone calls from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Lunch and Breakfast
We will continue to serve lunch each day from 11:30 to 12:30. Due to the inclement weather, sack lunches will be distributed from the garage door at the west end of the school (off the lower lot). This is the loading area for the auditorium. You can drive right up and pick up your meals. Starting tomorrow (March 26th) they will give each student a lunch and some food for the next day’s breakfast at the same time.
Moving Forward:
Governor Herbert announced yesterday that public schools will be closed at least through May 1st, 2020. Gulp…here we go…
Quarter 4
The new quarter begins on March 31st. This is one day later than we anticipated, but it has taken a little longer for the district to prepare for online teaching and learning. This means that we will start with new content, and assignments and assessments will be graded and recorded in Skyward.
Chromebooks
Learning will be online. Teachers are working like crazy to prepare for this. Your child will need access to a device for about two hours a day. We will continue to distribute Chromebooks to those who need them. If you didn’t sign the online contract, we will need a parent to come pick up the Chromebook and sign the agreement. Chromebooks can be picked up between 11:00 and 1:00 each day.
- Internet Access
- The district is purchasing 250 more hotspots which will be available around April 1st. Please contact the school if you need one.
- The internet is available at CSDGuest in the parking lots of CSD schools
- You can find open Xfinity hotspots in your area through the following link:
Spring Break
Students and teachers will be on Spring Break as planned April 6 – 10.
Teacher Accessibility
It will be critical for students to have open communication with teachers during this time. Students can email teachers using their CSDDocs email accounts. Parents are also welcome to email or call teachers. Please allow 24 hours during the work week for a response (e.g. an email sent late Friday might not be returned until Monday).
It is a weird, unsettling time for all of us, but we appreciate your patience and kindness as we work through the challenges. We care about your children and families and want to help them in any way we can.
Warmly,
Kelly Tauteoli
