Principal’s Message
As we head into March, we are launching our March Matters Attendance Challenge—and it truly does matter! Throughout March, we will be celebrating improved attendance, consistent attendance, and growth. This isn’t just about perfect attendance—it’s about progress, commitment, and showing up.Our students are amazing, and we are excited to recognize the effort they are putting into being present and engaged. We look forward to celebrating improvements and highlighting classrooms and grade levels that show strong attendance trends.
We also want to recognize the positive momentum happening across campus through our PBIS system. Our Bobcat Market has been busy as students redeem their hard-earned points. Teachers are also awarding GOLDEN BOBCAT Cards, worth 50 PBIS points, to recognize students who go above and beyond.
It has been exciting to see students motivated, responsible, and proud of their efforts. These recognitions help reinforce the positive behaviors that make Union Middle such a strong and supportive learning community.
Thank you for your continued support. We are proud of our students and look forward to celebrating their growth all month long!
Go BOBCATS!

March Attendance Challenge – Week 1
The March Matters Attendance Challenge has officially begun.
We’re looking for the grade level with the most improved attendance from February. The grade with the most improved attendance for the first week in March will be PBIS Points and a Donut Party.
Be here, Lock in, Earn points!
Staying Connected with Your Teen – Starts Tuesday, 3/2
This 5 week parenting workshop is free to the community and will be hosted by Union in our Bobcat Den. Diana Johnson with Salt Lake County Youth Services will be presenting every Tuesday from 6 pm – 8 pm. Dinner will be provided. Use the QR Code in the flyer or click hereto register today! Questions? Email dijohnson@saltlakecounty.gov.
Friendly Drop off/Pick up Reminder
We are asking for your help to ensure the safety of students as well as to provide the most efficient drop off and pick up procedures.
We have parents parking on the side of the road on 8000 S. waiting to pick up students. This creates unnecessary congestion and increases the potential for accidents as well. If you are waiting for a student, please pull into the parking lot and wait for your student there.
The north side of the building past the Union Park parking lot is for busses ONLY. We have had multiple near misses as busses are moving through the narrow driveway and drivers are backing out in front of busses. Please do not use the north side bus area for student drop off or pickup.
Let’s work together to keep our students safe!
