Principal’s Message
Quarter 3 is officially underway, and we are excited to begin the second half of the school year! We look forward to continuing our work together to ensure a successful and engaging learning experience for all UMS students.
This time of year also marks an important step as we begin planning for next school year. Our 2026–2027 UMS Registration Kickoff will take place this week. On Thursday, January 22, counselors will host a registration assembly where students will receive an overview of the process, course offerings and students will receive registration cards to bring home.
On Friday, January 23, our 8th grade students will participate in a Hillcrest High School assembly to begin their high school registration process.
Please take a few moments to check in with your students about registration for next school year and encourage them to ask questions and stay engaged in the process. This is an exciting milestone as they plan for what’s ahead!

Updates & Reminders
Union United, 4/23 6pm – 8pm
Union United, our cultural night is coming! This is our 3rd annual celebration of all the different cultures that make Union the amazing school that it is. We want to make sure everyone feels represented. There are lots of different ways to share your culture during the event. Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Perform a dance
- Sing a song
- Make a presentation on a trifold board
- Display artwork, artifacts, regalia etc.
- Recite or display creative writing

UMS Pantry is open to families
A huge THANK YOU to our generous community for bringing in lots of donations to our school pantry! It is full so we are now going to pause accepting food donations. If you’d like to donate clothing items, please see the link to the wishlist below.
Families are welcome to come to the main office, 7:30 am – 3:00 pm, to pick up some food and/or hygiene items.
