Review & approval of October 16,2025, previous meeting minutes. Ashley approved, Korina seconded.
Quarter 1 Student Data (office referrals, grades, etc.)
- Parents would like to break it down by grade & if it is the same group of kids that struggle.
- Parents asked about cell phones & the school reported that it is going well.
Safe Routes/Walking Plan
- Review of map colors, symbols and their meanings. Green is the boundary lines, red is safe walking route, different colors people are who pay for the crosswalks (blue people are Midvale, purple people are Sandy, and green people are Cottonwood Heights)
- Update of students crossing at 7800 S & Union Park (approx. 622 East): The safe walking route with concerns was submitted to the district. Midvale Mayor has it on the agenda for their next meeting.
- The new building now has access from the park; the walking plan should be updated to reflect it.
- Crosswalk at the Hillcrest West Entrance: Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFBs), typically used at mid-block crossings.
PTSA
- Kindness Fundraiser Night: approximately 50 people attended, kindness rocks were decorated & approximately $4,300 was raised.
- Watch Dogs Program: T-shirts were issued, and school lunch is offered to the volunteers during their shift.
- Honor Roll Party: students were rewarded with a donut, and sodas were given to those with a 4.0 GPA.
- Reflections: 13 entries received, slides will be added to the presentation for the upcoming PBIS Assembly.
- PTSA Student Club: will begin this year
- Nominating Committee: 3 positions to be filled.
Other Topics:
- Vaping concern: Compared to Hillcrest High School, it is getting better.
Next SCC meeting: There will be no meeting in December. We will meet next on January 8th at 6 pm.
