Meeting Minutes
January 8, 2025
1. Approval of Previous Minutes
The November SCC meeting minutes were previously emailed to all SCC members for review with no revisions requested. Another email will be sent requesting edits. Non-responses will be counted as approval of the minutes as written.
2. TSSP Updates for 2025–2026
- 2024–2025 Final Report (Due January 30) Administration reviewed results from last year’s TSSP goals. Literacy data showed approximately 41% of students met projected growth (goal: 60%), with 55% scoring at or above benchmark. Math results showed similar challenges, with approximately 35% of students in low or low-average categories. These results informed the use of LAND Trust funds to hire an additional literacy teacher.
Current-Year Progress (Winter Benchmark Data) Preliminary winter data shows notable improvement:
– Reading: Approximately 61% of students met projected growth from fall to winter.
– Math: Approximately 65.5% of students met projected growth. Growth was attributed to improved testing conditions and consistent use of intervention tools supported by LAND Trust funding. - School Climate / PBIS The school climate goal is for 90% of students to be recognized monthly through PBIS. All students have now received PBIS points at least once this year. Increased teacher participation, student incentives, and consistent promotion of the Bobcat Market were noted as contributing factors. LAND Trust funds continue to support PBIS incentives and recognition activities.
- LAND Trust Alignment LAND Trust funding supports academic and climate goals through literacy staffing, math intervention tools, professional collaboration days, and student incentives. The council discussed the importance of sustaining these supports.
3. Spring Parent Teacher Conferences
The council discussed historically low spring conference attendance and potential strategies to increase engagement, including in-person versus virtual formats, student work displays, and incentives, possible food options available. Staff input will be collected prior to finalizing plans.
4. W.A.T.C.H. D.O.G.S.
Volunteer participation has declined since earlier in the year. Additional recruitment efforts are planned.
5. PTSA Updates
PTSA continues to host monthly student activities during lunch, which have been well received. Attendance incentives and PBIS-aligned activities were highlighted.
6. Other Business
Discussion included exploring future connections between school climate data and academic outcomes, as well as considering feedback opportunities for exiting 8th-grade students. Administration noted positive trends in attendance, behavior, and reduced vaping incidents.
