School Community Council Agenda
February 15, 2024

Those in attendance: Brenda McCann, Jeremy Hodgeson, Matt Barila, Ashley Backman, Veronica Reginato Rachel Pena, Ashley Rodriguez, Michelle Hauck, Melissa Hodgson, Matt Bates
Welcome and approval of previous meetings minutes.
Ashley welcomed everyone in attendance.
- TSS/LandTrust: Discussed more about what the funds are needed for the next school year such as positions that will need to be filled. Discussed the field trip funds and what it takes financially to do a field trip.
- Moving to Mid-terms: Discussed that a trial run of mid-terms will take effect in the 4th quarter to give the students an idea of what next year would be like. It will only stay in place if teachers keep grades updated weekly. If this cannot be done, then it may go back.
- Changing to semesters was discussed. This may or may not happen as there as a full-time band teacher is needed. It also hurts the 8th grade DLI students with electives.
- Watch DOGS Kickoff event discussed. A meeting for Dads to sign up for one day during the school year. It was discussed to have the meeting for Dads to attend with student at the end of this month (Feb) in the morning 7-8 A.M. Watch for more info to come out on this.
- PTSA positions are open
- Help with S.T.E.A.M week March 18-22 was just briefly mentioned
- Discussed it would be nice to have ambassadors /mentors for the 6th graders and then for the 8th graders going into the 9th grade.
- The new Bob Cat buttons were talked about how students receive one when they receive a good/positive note from a teacher or admin.
- Some parents are asking if chrome books can be kept at school and not be the responsibility of the kids after school. This is still a topic to be discussed further.
