Audition Information for Newsies

UMS Musical - the Canvas Course

Please click on the link below to join the Canvas course. The course will have audition materials, calendars, and director communication.

Performance Dates: November 30, December 1, December 2, and December 3 at 7pm in the UMS Auditorium
Two Matinees – 5th Grade Performance on November 30 at 9am and December 3 at 2pm
Rehearsals are every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3pm-5pm beginning on September 6 through October 27; Mandatory Rehearsals begin on November 1
Cast and Parent Meeting: September 6 at 7pm in the Auditorium
Auditions: 3:30-6:30pm on August 29 (6th graders only), August 30 and August 31 (7th and 8th graders); Callbacks are on September 1 and 2 (TBD)
Audition Workshops: August 24-25 from 3pm-5pm in the Auditorium

Everyone must audition to be in the musical, and everyone gets to participate if they want to
Audition materials are on the UMS Musical Canvas course
NEW THIS YEAR – 6th graders have a dedicated audition day and modified requirements
Audition workshops (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)
All auditions will take place in the auditorium
Sign up for an audition time on the Performing Arts board outside the auditorium
Audition forms will be provided to be filled out when you arrive for your audition time
