Classes will resume at Union Middle on Tuesday, Oct. 29. The three-day cancellation of classes gave workers enough time to properly clean and ventilate the school after an electrical fire in one classroom on Thursday morning.
For now, students will be attending school on the ground floor. The mitigation effort to rid the school of soot and smoke damage will continue on the top floor, which is on a separate ventilation system and has been sealed from the bottom floor.
As a reminder, Union Middle will hold school in split sessions, with sixth-graders and the seventh-graders in Team Kenya attending in the morning, and eighth-graders and seventh-graders in Team Morocco attending in the afternoon.
Parents with students in cluster classes will be contacted with information about each individual student.
Breakfast will be served in the morning. Lunch in Session No. 1 will be served from 11:25 to 11:55 a.m., which is the end of the school day this group. Session No. 2 will start with lunch and end at 2:55 p.m.
