Approval of Previous Minutes

May 2025-2026 meeting minutes will be reviewed in October’s meeting.

1. SCC Elections

• The elections will be held in October’s meeting when more parents are present.
• Decision: TBD

2. SCC Virtual Meetings

• Virtual meetings will be offered for the SCC. Audrey Sharkey volunteered to set up and manage them. Loosely discussed but will be addressed again in October
• UMS Drop off & Pickup: more ideas were presented and will be communicated via ParentSquare.
• Funds will be applied to after-school programs i.e. Harry Potter Group, Crochet Crew, etc.

5. Attendance Awareness Month

• Dates: September 1-September 31
• Assist students with D’s & Fs to reduce grades, fun prizes to win for all, points to be earned toward Battle of the Bobcats, and the release of the Golden Bobcat.

6. Digital Citizenship Plan & District Filter System

• Program teaches students & families to use technology safely and responsibly.
• Shawn Fillmore, dedicated Digital Citizenship Coordinator, teaches online safety thru CCA classes. The curriculum is also taught through Health classes.
• The Canyons School District offers more information and resources on their website at www.canyonsdistrict.org/familyconnections/digcit/

7. Personal Device Policy

• If a student personal device is seen, it is taken away and returned at the end of the day.
• Since the beginning of the school year, there have been no repeat offenders.

• Student Leadership Group is underway and offers leadership training, team building and planning support for student groups.
• Fundraiser begins September 27 – October 9. The focus will be kindness with students utilizing the Raise Craze website for fundraising.
